A Day of Recognition and Team Tradition

On June 26, 2026 the SSI team gathered for our annual Years of Service Recognition Lunch and 6th Annual Cornhole Tournament—a day dedicated to celebrating the employees whose hard work and commitment continue to make our company stronger.

This year, we recognized several team members for reaching important service milestones:

• 5 Years: Todd Hendrix, Robbie Wiggins, Josh Samples and Chase Jackson

• 10 Years: Torri Valderrama

• 15 Years: Eddie Reese and Joe Lewis

• 25 Years: Jamee Mattingly

We also celebrated the retirement of Mike Bashaw after an incredible 40+ years with Steel Specialty. Mike’s loyalty, expertise and dedication have made a lasting impact on our company and the many people who have had the privilege of working alongside him. We are grateful for his four decades of service and wish him all the best in retirement.

After lunch and the recognition ceremony, employees teamed up for our 6th Annual Cornhole Tournament. The afternoon brought plenty of friendly competition, laughter and time together outside of our usual workday. Teams were chosen at random so that shop and office employees could get to know each other better. Congratulations to Robbie Wiggins and Kainen Teague for winning the bracket!
